I am from Leo, Indiana, approximately 20 miles northeast of Fort Wayne. I am a recent graduate of The University of Findlay, with a degree in Sport and Event Management and a minor in Marketing.
I have always been passionate about sports. I started going to softball games when I was one year old; my mother would take me and my sister to her games. I began playing sports when I was 5 years old and have continued ever since.
During my senior year of high school, I was thinking about what I wanted to study in college and what career path I wanted to take. I knew I wanted to do something involving sports but was unsure of what road to go down.
I have volunteered for numerous things to fulfill practicum requirements. I have also completed two internships and have worked several jobs. Almost of my jobs and internships have been related to sports in some way.
I have been a softball umpire and a basketball referee for youth sports leagues. I have worked concessions for one minor league baseball team and was a food and beverage intern for another. I was also a sports intern at a recreation center. These experiences were enlightening and have helped me determine what path I want to follow.
My experiences have led me to pursue a career in food and beverage operations in an entertainment/attraction/sports venue. My ultimate career goal is to pursue a career in minor league baseball in food and beverage operations.
