As a Culinary Supervisor at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo, I oversee all food and beverage operations throughout the zoo, including cafes and carts. I also serve as the opening or closing food park manager, ensuring that all locations are stocked and prepared for the day ahead. I have developed a system to track daily inventory at the concessions carts and have also assisted with job fairs.
Florence Freedom, Food and Beverage Intern

I was a food and beverage intern for the Florence Freedom, an independent minor league baseball team. In this position, I managed a staff of 50+ employees and supervised one of the concession stands. I ensured that food was cooked properly in compliance with health code standards and was responsible for product control. I entered time sheets for employee payment and also gained experience in sales by selling one-time sponsorships to local businesses.

 
 
 
Bluffton Family Recreation, Sports Intern

​October 2014-February 2015

 

​I was a sports intern at Bluffton Family Recreation, a recreation center in Bluffton, Ohio. In this position, I created schedules for indoor soccer leagues and tournaments, and acted as the site manager during both indoor soccer and basketball tournaments and leagues. I also contacted referees and created a referee schedule for a basketball tournament. In addition, I also performed regular front desk duties, including signing up clients for tournaments, leagues, and classes, and selling memberships and passes.

 

 

Fort Wayne TinCaps, Concessions Cart Worker
May 2013-September 2014

 

​I was a concessions cart worker for the Fort Wayne TinCaps, a single-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres. I communicated with customers both as cashier and food-prep worker. As a food-prep worker, I prepared customer orders, making any changes or adjustments wanted by the customer. As cashier, I took customer orders and communicated the order with the food-prep worker. I recorded inventory of the cart both before and after games and events. I calculated the total amount of inventory sold and compared this with the amount of cash collected during the event at that cart.

 

 

Findlay YMCA, Youth Basketball Referee

​October 2013-December 2013

 

​I was a youth basketball referee for the YMCA in Findlay, Ohio. I administered fair and appropriate calls while also instructing the players on how to correct the playing mistake that warrented the call. I was also in charge of running the scoreboard where I recorded the  team points and fouls committed.

 

 

Leo-Grabill Girls Softball League, Umpire

​June 2012-August 2014

 

​I was an umpire for youth softball league in Grabill, Indiana. I performed duties from both behind the plate and in the field. I administered fair and appropriate calls throughout the games, and consulted with my partner, if needed, when coaches questioned any calls.

I am a recent graduate from The University of Findlay with a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Business in Sport and Event Management and a minor in Marketing. I was a member of the Women's Varsity Softball Team for three years and also a Dana Scholar. I have received several academic awards including making the Dean's List as well as several academic-athletic awards.

Practicum Hours

 

As a Sport and Event Management major, I was required to complete 200 practicum hours over the course of four years. These practicums are designed for students to gain experience in different aspects of the sport and event industry. For some of these hours, I conducted concessions and ticket sales, helped with the set up and tear down of events, and also instructed young athletes at youth softball clinics and skills clinics.

 

Cleveland Indians, College Ticket Sales Program

 

I had the opportunity to work with the Cleveland Indians as a part of their College Ticket Sales Program during my "Concessions and Ticket Sales Management" class. During this program, I sold Indians tickets to customers and went through a brief sales training at Progressive Field with the instruction of the Indians staff. At the end of the selling period, I learned how to service the tickets online with the assistance of an Indians employee. I personally generated $1,240 in ticket sales.

 

Professional Selling Class

 

During my Professional Selling class at The University of Findlay, I gained experience in cold-calling alumni for donations with the University Advancement Office. During this time, I developed communications skills and also worked with RuffaloCODY software.
